Medical Care for International Students

Overseas students need to register with a doctor and are entitled to receive services from the National Health Services, which is free of charge, if they are following a programme lasting six months or more. You should register with a general practitioner near your term-time address.

Consultation with a dentist who provides NHS treatment, you will have to pay a minimum charge for treatment and may qualify for some help with the costs. If you are not registered as an NHS patient, you will have to pay the full cost of dental treatment as a private patient.

Eye treatment or test or spectacles do not come under NHS treatment for international students and they have to pay full cost.
